Online gambling group reports that revenue from casino games jumped seven fold and that they would be introducing online backgammon gambling soon. The internet’s largest and most successful gambling group did not disappoint analysts when it produced yet another set of superb financial results. The Gibraltar based online gambling group announced that its first-quarter sales had climbed 54% and that most of the increase was a result of a beefed-up advertisement campaign. Gambling revenue rose to $342.6 million from $222.6 million a year earlier, Party Gaming said in a news statement.
The political climate in the online gambling markets did however affect the group’s numbers. The total number of new poker players rose by 23% overall, but almost 40% were located from outside of the United States. The company posits that the uncertain future of online gambling laws in the country might be affecting the sign-up of new players at present. A very successful marketing campaign across Europe was the reason for the high percentage of non-American players’ sign-up rates.
A spokesperson for the online gambling group said that Party Gaming would be launching online backgammon soon. They expect the launch to take place within a month or two, and is expected to attract new players to the company’s other sites, and not only the popular poker sites. They also hinted at another new game to be launched soon, but would not provide additional details. The company which has started marketing its gambling sites in an array of languages, is looking forward to another successful quarter.
